New Nissan Qashqai Wins 2014 Fleet Car of the Year Award

The all-new Nissan Qashqai was named Fleet Car of the Year at the 2014 Motorcheck.ie Fleet Car of the Year Awards at a ceremony held in Carton House, Maynooth earlier this week.  The Nissan Qashqai, which also received the coveted What Car? 2014 Car of the Year award earlier this year, beat off stiff competition from Opel, Skoda and Hyundai in the crossover Segment category to take the title.

Now in their fourth year, the motorcheck.ie Fleet Car of the Year Awards are Ireland’s only extensive car awards programme for the corporate sector, which saw the finalists battle it out for one of 8 category awards. The Nissan Qashqai was awarded the title after being judged under criteria set out by the judging panel, including strong residual values, driving performance, fuel economy, quality feel and finish, equipment levels and aftersales support. The shortlisted contenders for the 2014 Motorcheck.ie Fleet Car Awards were subjected to vigorous testing and analysis before the category winners were determined.

The expert adjudication panel consists of members of the corporate car leasing industry and representatives from the fleet and financial sectors.

Accepting the award, Declan Hickey, Head of Operations & Fleet, Nissan Ireland said “We are delighted that the Nissan Qashqai has been recognised as the crossover car of choice within the fleet sector. The Nissan Qashqai has led the field in the segment it created back in 2007 and the new 2014 Nissan Qashqai has once again raised the bar and set new standards for this rapidly expanding car segment.”

The new Nissan Qashqai retails from €24,495, and is available with the latest in driving safety technology. The Qashqai has extensive equipment levels with items such as Hill start Assist, Idle Stop Start technology, cruise control, speed limiters and integrated handsfree Bluetooth phone systems as standard.
